Train for your thesis defence.
ThesisIQ is a bilingual training environment for doctoral candidates. You face an AI opponent that has read your own thesis and questions you on it — one question at a time, spoken or written, in Swedish or English.
The purpose is not to improve your thesis. The purpose is to improve your ability to defend it.

En disputation är en granskning, inte en repetition.

A defence is a scrutiny, not a rehearsal.
Most candidates prepare by rehearsing the content, practising the presentation and discussing with sympathetic colleagues. That is useful, but it is not what happens in the room. There you meet someone who has read the work in order to test it, and whose next question follows from what you actually just said.

Choose a focus and a length
Method-focused, theory-focused or a full defence. Five, ten or twenty minutes — a session should fit into an ordinary day.

Train the dialogue
One bounded question at a time. The follow-up builds on your actual answer: it asks for precision, challenges an assumption, requests evidence, or returns an evasive answer to the question. You can ask for a rephrasing without it counting as an answer, and pause and resume a session.

Återkopplingen säger hur väl svaret mötte frågan, vad som bar, vad som behöver arbete och vad som är rimligt att träna härnäst. Högst tre punkter och en rekommendation — mer än så bär ingen med sig.
Ingen totalpoäng, ingen rangordning och ingen förutsägelse om huruvida du blir godkänd. Det avgörs av din avhandling, ditt lärosätes regler och din betygsnämnd, och ingenting här gör anspråk på att veta det.
The voice is part of what is tested
The opponent speaks, and you answer into the microphone. The transcript is shown before you submit it, so that a misheard word does not become your answer. Text is always available as an alternative and a whole session can be run without a microphone. Raw audio is not stored.
What you get back
The feedback says how well the answer met the question, what held up, what needs work, and what is reasonable to train next. At most three points and one recommendation — nobody carries away more than that.
No total score, no ranking, and no prediction of whether you will pass. That is settled by your thesis, your institution's rules and your examination committee, and nothing here claims to know it.

What ThesisIQ is not
- It does not replace supervision.
- It does not evaluate scientific quality.
- It does not write any text for you.
- It does not prepare any answers for you.
If you say “I don't know”, you do not get a finished answer but a way into the question. In a defence, stating a limitation openly is often a strong answer, and it is treated as one.
Svenska och engelska, båda på riktigt
Gränssnitt, opponent, tal och återkoppling finns på båda språken. Språket är en inställning i din profil och kan bytas för ett enskilt pass — träna på svenska och disputera på engelska, eller tvärtom. Inom ett pass sker ingen ofrivillig språkblandning.
Swedish and English, both for real
The interface, the opponent, the speech and the feedback exist in both languages. Language is a setting on your profile and can be overridden for a single session — train in Swedish and defend in English, or the other way round. Within a session there is no involuntary mixing of languages.

Your thesis is unpublished. It is treated that way.
- Material is stored within the EU/EEA.
- What you upload is private and isolated to your own account and project — including the fragments and indexes built from the text.
- Raw audio is not stored.
- You can export and delete your account, your projects and your documents. Deletion covers what was derived from them too.
- Model providers are used on terms that exclude your material from training general models.
- Directly identifiable patient or participant data does not belong in uploaded material and must not be uploaded.
This website sets no cookies, loads nothing from third parties and measures nothing. The only thing stored in your browser is your choice of language.

Is using ThesisIQ cheating?
No. ThesisIQ never generates thesis text and writes no answers for you. It asks questions and gives structured feedback — much like discussing with a colleague who has read the work closely. Always follow your institution's academic integrity policies.
Do I need a microphone?
No. Voice is a core part of the product, but a whole session can be run in text without granting microphone permission.
Which languages are supported?
Swedish and English, both in full. The language can be changed per session.
What happens to my thesis?
It is stored within the EU/EEA, is private and isolated to your account and project, and can be deleted by you — together with everything derived from it.
Does ThesisIQ guarantee that I will pass my defence?
No. It is a preparation tool. The outcome is settled by the quality of the research, the institution's rules and the examination committee's judgement.
